Alexandre Benjamin Navet meets Ecart International

Inspired by the iconic pieces of the Ecart International collection, the artist Alexandre Benjamin Navet reinterprets two of the publishing house’s great classics in his own colourful and vibrant language.

For Paris Déco Off 2022, Jean Michel Frank’s straight-backed armchair and Pierre Chareau’s Curule stool become new territories of expression for the artist.

The dialogue continues at the 18 rue Jacob gallery until the end of April, where the artist has created a screen that stages several key pieces from the collections, in his chromatic universe that plays with the codes of interior design, architecture and design.

“I like the idea of using colour to give a new reading of everyday life.

“I am always the first to be surprised by the power of colour. The curule stool, an iconic object by Pierre Chareau that I am particularly fond of, tells a new story.”
