Mariano Fortuny

Born in Grenada, Mariano Fortuny studied in Paris. He went on to settle in Venice at the Orfei Palace which has become the Fortuny Museum. As a painter, sculptor, designer, inventor, he created sets and costumes for the theater, designed furniture and lighting systems. Known as the “Magician of Venice“, he gained international fame for his numerous and prestigious fabrics and furniture designs.
